Who Needs GST Registration?

GST Registration Process in Hyderabad
Step 1: Prepare Documents
Before starting online application, keep these ready:
- PAN card of business/proprietor
- Aadhaar card
- Proof of business address
- Bank account details
- Passport-size photo
- Email ID and mobile number
Step 2: Online Application
Visit: www.gst.gov.in
Form GST REG-01:
- Part A: Basic details (PAN, mobile, email)
- Part B: Business details, partners/directors info
Upload Documents:
- Photo (JPEG, max 100 KB)
- Signature (JPEG, max 100 KB)
- Address proof (PDF, max 2 MB)
- Other documents as applicable
Step 3: Aadhaar Authentication
- Mandatory for all applicants
- OTP sent to Aadhaar-linked mobile
- Complete within 15 days of application
Step 4: Verification by Officer
- GST officer verifies application
- May seek clarification or additional documents
- Response required within 7 days
Step 5: Registration Certificate
- If approved: GSTIN (GST Identification Number) generated
- Registration certificate (Form GST REG-06) issued
- Download from GST portal
Step 6: Post-Registration
- Login to GST portal with credentials

GST Return Filing
Monthly Returns
- GSTR-1: Outward supplies (sales) - Due 11th of next month
- GSTR-3B: Summary return with tax payment - Due 20th of next month
Annual Returns
- GSTR-9: Annual return - Due 31st December
- GSTR-9C: Reconciliation statement (for turnover > Rs 2 crores) - Due 31st December
Quarterly Returns (QRMP Scheme)
For taxpayers with turnover up to Rs 5 crores:
- GSTR-1: Quarterly - Due 13th of month following quarter

Penalties for Non-Compliance
Late Filing Penalty

- Late fee: Interest at 18% per annum on outstanding tax
Non-Filing Consequences
- Blocking of GSTIN: Canβt file returns or make transactions
- Penalty: Up to 100% of tax evaded
- Prosecution: For tax evasion above Rs 1 crore
Incorrect Filing
- Penalty: 10% of tax evaded or Rs 10,000 (whichever is higher)
- Interest: 18% per annum on short payment
Input Tax Credit (ITC)
